Service to our English speaking clientsMr Jan-Kees den Haan
Nice to meet you. My name is Jan-Kees den Haan. I graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 1995 and started working for DAS Legal Insurance as a labour lawyer. In 2004 I became a partner Maet Advocaten in Amsterdam. Through the years I have made a practice of legal service to American and English speaking clients in the field of Dutch labour law.
I have resided near Broken Bow, Nebraska and have worked as a trainee for the law firm of Newcombe and Redman in Lawton, Oklahoma. This has cemented my relationship with the U.S. and with English speaking clients. I have perfected my command of the English language in this period of time. As a result, I am fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
I am a member of the Dutch Bar association and the Association for labour law. I have litigated and advised clients, both employers and employees, in many hundreds of cases over a period of more than 20 years. Dutch labour law
Dutch labour laws are notorious the world around. They are meant to protect the interests of employees and go to great lengths to that end. If you are an employer in The Netherlands, you had better know what you are doing or suffer the consequences. If you are an employee, faced with a professional employer, you are wise to enlist the help of a lawyer with experience in this field. It would seem that a good lawyer in this field is not hard to find. To find a competent lawyer that is also a native speaker however, is not so easy.
This is of grave importance in matters of your employment, income and wealth. These are highly personal and emotional to most people. To be able to convey your concerns and emotions in your native tongue is truly a great benefit. It can make the difference between being heard and being understood. Most clients come to us because they wish to terminate a labour contract with an employee or wish to prevent the termination of their labour contract with their employer. We also handle related issues, such as employer and employee liability, disputes over remuneration, etc., etc.
Our services are priced on an hourly basis. General conditions apply to all contracts with Maet Advocaten. Please find these conditions here. I do work for various legal insurance companies. I do not do pro bono work.
The outcome of the legal dispute that you may have with your employer or employee depends heavily on your relationship with your attorney. That relationship is very personal. This is why I offer you the opportunity to get acquainted and assess your case, free of charge. Please take advantage of this offer. It may very well be the best thing to come out of a very difficult situation.
